Jesse L Martin
Jesse L Martin is an African American actor and singer coming from a Broadway background. He excelled in school and got his break starting in small musicals, progressing onto bigger roles in TV shows like Law and Order. He has also been in X-Files where he played the role of a baseball loving Alien!
In The Flash he plays the role of detective Joe West, father to Iris West and plays the father role to Barry Allen, as he takes care of him like his own son, after his mother is killed.
He plays a key role and is present (from what we remember) in almost every episode of Season 1 and 2 of The Flash. A leader role in Team Flash although he himself has no powers the team respect him and make use of his connections and authority within the cities law and enforcement. He plays an important part in holding the team down, giving insight and keeping calm when things are getting out of hand. He is someone The Flash looks upto and relies on for support. He manages to play a good father figure to Iris West and Wally west showing good acting when it comes to being assertive, angry and loving.
